My Services
If you feel unfulfilled in life, you are struggling to achieve your desires, you often admire the achievements of others but have the belief that you could never have what they have, or you never feel you are able to get ahead in life, then I can help you. Together we can discover what is holding you back and help you take steps to manifest your desires into reality so that you can enjoy an abundant and fulfilling life.
Anxiety and worry can really impact our day to day lives. It can cause us to feel tense, unable to switch off and sleep, unable to relax, irritable and less tolerant, worried about the future, avoidant of some situations, and generally feeling on edge as if something bad may happen. I can help you to live more in the moment, feel more confident and empowered, not feel overwhelmed by future focussed fears and have the ability to enjoy your life day to day.
When we have low self-esteem we don't have a high opinion of ourselves, lack confidence in our abilities and often don't feel good enough. It impacts all areas of life including relationships and work and can cause anxiety and low mood. It can often prevent us from going for what we want in life and believing we can achieve the things that we desire. I can help you to understand why you feel as you do, what is maintaining your low self-esteem and how you can start to value yourself more, gain confidence in your abilities, go for the things you want in life rather than holding back and start to live the life of your desires.
Low mood, and depression (when its at its severity), can make you feel unmotivated, hopeless about the future, lacking in energy, uninterested in things you used to enjoy, detached from others and even feel like life isn't worth living. I can help you understand why you feel the way you do, show you some helpful tools and techniques to lift your mood, help you find a sense of purpose and ultimately help you to feel positive about the future.
Anyone can develop PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). When we experience or even hear about a traumatic event, sometimes our brain is unable to process it and therefore the memory is not stored in the same way as other memories. A consequence of this is feeling stuck in the past with the same feelings you had at the time, being hypervigilant to certain triggers, sleep difficulties, flashbacks, low mood, irritability and avoidance of things that may trigger the memory. I can help you to overcome PTSD so that you are able to live in the moment rather than in the past and can achieve a fulfilling and meaningful life.
Health anxiety is an overwhelming fear and belief that you have a serious health problem despite receiving reassurance from health professionals and/or having no evidence to support this belief. It can really impact your life due to constantly focusing on how you feel, being on the lookout for any signs that support your belief, experiencing anxiety related symptoms and avoidance of some situations. I can help you to have a life where you are not consumed by this fear, where you can embrace life and feel positive about the future.
Panic attacks are sudden, intense and overwhelming feelings of anxiety that cause uncomfortable physical symptoms and consequently worrying thoughts in regard to those feelings. Panic attacks can cause avoidance due to ongoing fear about having another panic attack and can severely impact day to day life. I can help you to understand and address your fear so that you no longer feel held back.
Social anxiety is a marked fear of social situations where you believe you will embarrass yourself or be judged negatively. You worry that others can see how anxious you feel, which then causes you to feel even more self-conscious and anxious. Consequently it can lead to avoidance of situations or the use of behaviours to try and manage the situation which only serve to perpetuate the problem. I can help you to understand what may be causing you to feel this way, help you to feel more confident in situations and embrace life fully.
A phobia is an overwhelming fear of an object or situation which can cause intense emotions and avoidance. We can have a phobia of anything but some things we are able to avoid therefore it doesn't necessarily impact our lives as much, such as having a phobia of sharks when you live in the UK. Some phobias however, are very debilitating due to having to face your feared object or situation regularly, such as a phobia of birds. I can help you to overcome your phobia so that you can embrace life, not feel held back by any unhelpful fears and have the confidence to do the things you have always wanted to.
OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) is an anxiety problem where the person experiences obsessions (intrusive thoughts, urges, doubts, images) which then due to the anxiety felt, leads to compulsive behaviours as a means to try to reduce the anxiety. These behaviours often are time consuming, repeated and can be distressing. I can help you to understand why you are stuck in the cycle of OCD and how you can overcome this in order to live a more present and abundant life.
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a talking therapy that focuses on the connection between your thoughts (what you think), feelings (how you feel), and behaviours (what you do).

CBT is based on the idea that how you think, affects how you feel and what you do. So if you experience distressing thoughts this will probably cause you to experience uncomfortable feelings, and may cause you to respond in an unhelpful way which then reinforces the way you feel - we call this a vicious cycle.
So when you go through difficult moments in life and feel overwhelmed by difficult emotions it can feel really hard to break free of this and gain a sense of control over your life.

CBT helps you to identify any unhelpful thoughts and behaviours, and understand the processes involved in maintaining the problem, in order to then help you to reframe your thinking, adapt your behaviours/responses and feel better.

CBT is recognised as the treatment of choice by the National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) for most depression and anxiety related problems.
